I WISH YESTERDAY NEVER LEFT!!
# I wish for the yesterday when kids can go out and play hockey on the street
# I wish for the yesterday when kids and family can go out and play in the park
# I wish for the yesterday when neighbors look out for each other
# When it was not offensive to my neighbors when my family come visiting
# When I was more afraid of the government than my neighbor
# When strangers become family in the mall and grocery stores
# When going out shopping was an adventure of some sort
# When it was not offensive for me to smile and laugh out loud
# When people say bless you when you sneeze and not run from you
# I wish for the yesterday when wearing mask to public places makes you a criminal and not the other way round
# When you walk into a public building with a mask and people will start running for dear life
# When wearing mask makes one a criminal
# I wish for the yesterday when we could come together with family and friends, just because we can and want to be together
# When we go to weddings and dance, laugh, sing, and cry with tears of joy
# When we could come together to celebrate birthdays, and blow out the candles with our breath and still share and eat it joyfully
# When we could travel hundreds of miles to go say a proper goodbye to our loved ones at funerals
# I wish for the yesterday when it was no crime to go the place of worship
# When we could sing, dance, and lift holy hands
# When we could lay hands on our brothers and sisters to pray for them and with them
# I wish for the yesterday when children could walk to school holding hands
# When kids look forward to the time recess in school
# When the school playground was filled with happy faces
# I wish for the yesterday when being a senior means spending quality time with my family
# When the retirement home was not a mini prison for my grandparents
# I wish for the yesterday when social distancing was an offensive word
# When ignoring my family and friends was offensive
# When it was not a crime, to mingle with family and friends
# When it was rude to ignore your friend and loved ones
# When it was not a crime to hug and love on each other
# I wish for the yesterday when we all look forward to Christmas with great excitements
# When children forward to grandma and grandpa visiting
# When we look forward to family reunion with great expectations
# When we look forward to that turkey dinner as if our life depends on it
# When the children just cannot wait for that morning tradition of opening theirs together
# Again when (social distance) - was a curse word and a taboo.
# This was our yesterday age
# Our uncivilized cultured of yesterday
# This was the yesterday of community and family
# The yesterday when each one loved one.
# Again, the yesterday when we were not afraid of our neighbours
# The yesterday when people look out for each other
# What happened to our yesterday?
# Where did our beautiful yesterday go to?
# Has anyone seen our yesterday?
# Oh, this was our precious yesterday we all took for granted
# This was many yesterdays ago –
# Please if any of you, see yesterday, tell her we miss her
# Tell her we are sorry for taking her for granted
# Tell her to please come back
# We have learnt our lessons
# Yesterday we all miss you like yesterday
The hard and unfriendly present
